The Adult Outpatient Program provides outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for persons 18 years of age or older. The psychiatrists and mental health therapists are skilled in treating persons with a wide variety of diagnoses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, and adjustment disorders to life stressors. Problems involving relationship difficulties, trouble coping with stress, trauma, problems with substance abuse, and anger management issues are often the focus of treatment. The frequency of appointments with a therapist is variable depending upon need, and medication management visits with a psychiatrist occur at least every 90 days or more frequently if indicated. Treatment plans are developed collaboratively by patients and the treatment team. Progress towards goals is assessed regularly in treatment and objectives are updated as needed. We do not manage psychiatric emergencies at the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic except for those enrolled at our Center.
